SCHOLARSHIPS AND DEADLINES

The Assistance League Scholarship awards up to $1,000 to a graduating senior entering a two year community college or a four year college/university who has financial need, community involvement, a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 and is a resident of Kern County.  The deadline to apply is March 26, 2015.


Democratic Women of Kern is granting a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating female senior who is either a registered Democrat or who has at least one parent or legal guardian who is a registered Democrat, and will be enrolling in an accredited College or Trade school in the fall of 2015.  The deadline for submitting the application is Friday, March 27, 2015.

The Theresa Corti Agricultural Scholarship Fund
The Howard and Mamie Nichols Scholarship Fund

Scholarship funds have been established to assist students in designated communities who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited institution of the student's choice.  Additional information is available at www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/wellsfargotrust.
The deadline for all three scholarships is
March 27, 2015.

 

2015 Caltrans District 6/Central Region Transportation Scholarship

·        Four (4) Caltrans District 6/Central Region Transportation Scholarships are available to high school students who will pursue a career in a transportation related field ($1,000 or $2,000 scholarship).

·        Two (2) Caltrans District 6/Central Region Employee Family Scholarships are available to high school students related to a current, former, or retired Caltrans District 6 employee and who will pursue a career in a transportation related field ($1,000 or $2,000 scholarship).

The deadline to submit applications is March 27, 2015.



 
The Calcot-Seitz Foundation will make scholarships available to students who major in agriculature at a four-year school that offers a degree in agriculture.  Scholarships will be up to $3,000 each are are payable over a one to three-year period.  Additional information is available at www.calcot.com. The deadline for submitting applications is March 31, 2015.

 
Annual Scholarship Program
National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Foundation (NIADA) awards regional scholarships annually; eligible high school students include those who have maintained an outstanding academic achievement record and demonstrate an aptitude for college work as measure by SAT or ACT scores. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 16, 2015 and received no later than March 31, 2015.

 
Andrade Law Offices is on a mission to encourage teen safety. We can’t do this alone. We need the firsthand perspective of those who understand the social dynamics in local high schools and colleges. In exchange for scholarship money, we would like to have your perspective on some of the challenges facing our youth today.
The deadline for submitting entries is March 31, 2015.

Future Leaders Scholarship
The Kern County Future Leaders Scholarship is offered through the YOUTH 2 LEADERS EDUCATION FOUNDATION in collaboration with the Kern Community Foundation and other community partners. The Future Leaders Scholarship is designed to aid college students who demonstrate financial need in attaining their goal of attending a community college or university. Students must be planning to attend in Fall 2015 and carry a minimum of 12 semester units or 9 quarter units. This year, approximately 20- 30 scholarships will be awarded. All students who have or will graduate from a Kern County High School are welcome to apply. The amount of the scholarships will be based on the students UNMET NEED as determined by their Financial Aid Office of the school that they will be attending in the 2015/2016 academic year. The deadline for applications is April 4, 2015.


2015 Sun Pacific Scholarship Program

Three $20,000 scholarships for those interested in earning a Bachelor’s Degree

Two $3,000 scholarships for students who will attend an accredited trade school or community college

The deadline for applications is April 10, 2015.

 

2015 Harvey L. Hall/Hall Ambulance Service, Inc. Medical Scholarship Program
awards a one-time $250 scholarship to a high school graduate entering college and enrolling full-time with a major in a medical field of his or her choice, for the 2015-16 academic year.

KERN ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL OFFICE PROFESSIONALS
2015-16 SCHOLARSHIP

The Kern Associations of Educational Professionals plan to award a scholarship for the 2015-2016 school year to a qualified high school student.  This scholarship will be awarded to a high school student who plans to attend college and major in Business or a Business related field.
The deadline for filing application is April 10, 2015.
 

2015 BILL DOLAN KERN COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

A $4,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a high school graduate entering college and planning a career in law enforcement of the criminal justice system.  The deadline is April 17, 2015.
 
 
WILMA ADDINGTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The local chapter of Desk & Derrick is offering three (3) scholarships to students who are going to be attending college and will be majoring in the energy and/or allied industry related fields.  Attached is a copy of our criteria and the application for the interested students to fill out. 
The deadline to submit the application is
April 18, 2015
 

KCOA 2014-2015 Joanie Harper Memorial Scholarship
On behalf of the Board of Kern County Officials Association (KCOA), the KCOA Scholarship Committee would like to invite student-athletes of Kern County to apply for the 2014-2015 Joanie Harper Memorial Scholarship. 
$1,000 scholarships will be awarded to four student-athletes who plan to further their education past High School, who have demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and shown themselves to be highly regarded as a teammate in their respective sport(s).
Applications must be postmarked by Friday, April 24, 2015.

Avrek Law is hosting a scholarship that is open to all undergraduate and graduate students who are attending, or plan to attend, a two or four year university.
