Strategic Plan - YEAR 7
During the 2011-12 school year, the entire district staff embarked on a mission to revitalize the district by adopting an overarching theme to unify and provide common direction for the district’s elementary, middle, and high schools. After exploring future trends, and analyzing student, community, and staff surveys and input, the staff cooperatively arrived at the theme, “The World is My City,” to emphasize a focus on modern technology, and preparing students for participation in a global economy that extends far beyond the boundaries of their local community experience.
Using this theme as a guide, the Maricopa Unified School District Business and Marketing Plan was drawn up as a strategic plan to research future trends and plan how the district would meet the needs of students and their families over the next eight to ten years. Committees were appointed to review, evaluate, and if necessary to better reflect the districts new focus, modify the pre-existing district’s Vision and Mission Statements, as well to draw up a set of district-wide Tenants.

Be A Superhero!"
This year the staff selected the theme of, “HERO UP: Be A Superhero!” to encourage our students to take on the superpowers of our favorite heroes. The front of the school, offices and auditorium are decorated as a “Superheroes Training and Academy Head Quarters” theme. The first week of school all students met our superheroes in a "live-action" stage play to promote our
anti-bullying mission for the year. Students also took a pledge to help us defeat and put an end to bullying!
